A very traditional medium sized carpet with a classical
design that dates back to Ottoman times. This is a heavyweight carpet
that will give many years of wear. When it was made the design motifs
and panel borders were outlined in black, during the cleaning and
finishing process the black pile was cut back by hand to form a
'valley', giving the design motifs and panel borders a three dimensional
look. The design, including the black outlines can still be seen
on the reverse side. |
