The use of light blue is quite unusual for the Milas
region and adds a contrasting color to the normal 'earth' colors.
The design is named after the stylized Patlican plants that surround
the center design known as 'Tavuk Acak' or 'Chickens Feet'. When
it was made the design motifs and panel borders were outlined in
black, during the cleaning and finishing process the black pile
was cut back by hand to form a 'valley', giving the design motifs
and panel borders a three dimensional look. The design, including
the black outlines can still be seen on the reverse side.
