The slate green and light green colors used in
conjunction with the usual earth colors make this carpet quite
unusual. The two small orange bands in the center panel make
this carpet distinctive. When it was made the design motifs and
panel borders were outlined in black, during the cleaning and
finishing process the black pile was cut back by hand to form a
'valley', giving the design motifs and panel borders a three
dimensional look. The design, including the black outlines can
still be seen on the reverse side. |
