The use of lilac in this carpet is unusual for
the Milas region. The design is named after the stylized
Patlican plants that surround the center design known as 'Tavuk
Acak' or 'Chickens Feet'. A medium sized
carpet suitable for dining and sitting rooms. When made, the
design motifs of this carpet were bordered in black, during the
cleaning and finishing process the black pile was cut back by
hand to form a 'valley', giving the design motifs a three
dimensional look. The design, including the black outlines can
of course be seen on the reverse side. |
