At the larger end of the medium range this carpet
has a dusty red center panel with flower motifs and two outer borders
with stylized aubergines. The dividing borders are particularly
detailed with small, 'less stylized' flower motifs creating an interesting
combination. This carpet has been extensively re-worked. When it
was made the design motifs and panel borders were outlined in black,
during the cleaning and finishing process the black pile was cut
back by hand to form a 'valley', giving the design motifs and panel
borders a three dimensional look. The design, including the black
outlines can still be seen on the reverse side. This carpet would
make a perfect centerpiece in any living room. |
