The design is named after the stylized Patlican plants
that surround the center floral design. When it was made the design
motifs and panel borders were outlined in black, during the cleaning
and finishing process the black pile was cut back by hand to form
a 'valley', giving the design motifs and panel borders a three dimensional
look. The design, including the black outlines can still be seen
on the reverse side. |
